Envelope Icon for all inboxes

I used to get an envelope icon anytime I got a new message (in the default
inbox, or other inboxes), now it only works for my default inbox. I know
that I can set up a rule to show the "new mail desktop alert" but I don't
want that, only the envelope. Any suggestions? Has this changed recently,
because it always used to work...
 
Outlook 2003? Only for the default Inbox. I've seen it for occur for all
folder when there has been an in place upgrade from Outlook 2002/XP. This
was due to a profile corruption and "solved" itself when the profile was
recreated.
