The "company name" field in my Outlook address book does not merge when I use
the Word envelope/label feature.

It works when I do an actual "mail merge", but not when I use the
envelope/label feature.

DianneB:

This is not really a merge. When ykou use the Insert Address button in the
envelope feature or if you put it on your toolbar it inserts a Contact's
name and address using an AutoText entry called AddressLayout. I know of no
way to actually review what the current (or default) AutoText entry.
However you can change it, including to include a "conditional" to enter a
company name if there is one but not leave a blank line if there is none.

Take a look at these KB articles.
212345: Modify the Layout of an Address Book Entry in Word 2000

211424: Matching AddressLayout Fields to Outlook Contact Fields

209752: WD2000: Blank Lines Not Suppressed with AddressLayout AutoText

If I recall correctly in Word 2000 you may be able to use only a business
address, but others may correct me on that. In later versions Word uses
whatever address you listed in OL as the person's mailing address..

Copy the following to a document, select and save as an autotext entry
called AddressLayout (all one word).
The curly brackets here are curly brackets and not field boundaries.
