Entering Several Addresses in the To: field But Recipient Sees Only His/Her Address

Hello,

I use OE6 and my OS is XP Pro.

I'm the moderator of a chatroom and there are group mailings about once or
twice a week. To date, in order to respect everyone's right to privacy, I've
been placing their e-mail addresses in the Bcc field. Unfortunately, many
e-mail clients and/or providers regard Bcc mail as spam, thus causing room
members to not be kept up-to-date.

Is there a software application that would permit me to enter everyone's
e-mail address in the To: field, but the recipient would see only his/her
address?

Thanks!

No.

Bcc is used for that .. thats how the mailsystem is designed.
If email clients/providers regard Bcc mail as spam then the fault lies
with them.

To mail a lot of people like you describe you will have to use a special
mass-mailer program .. like the ones spammers use.
They can send thousands of identical mails out with the only difference
being the to: field.

OE6 cannot do that.

I don't use OE now but when I did, I recall there was a way. IIRC
there's a facility whereby you send an e-mail to a named mailing list
in your address book and it either left the To: field blank -or-
inserted 'undisclosed recipients' -or- it only showed the addressee
of each recipient. I'm 99% certain there's some way to do it!
You might want to play around with OE and run some tests.

Pegasus Mail has distribution or mailing lists, which does this,
according to the help file it would hold "many thousands of
addresses."
