Entering Dates Without Slashes

I want to be able a large number of dates without typing
the slashes each time. For instance 121103 I have tried
playing with custom formats but it always converts it into
a date from 1 January 1900.

Any ideas would be appreciated

The only way for Excel to treat 121103 as anything other than a six digit
number is to use a macro. Look here for details:
