Format, cells, time, and pick the format you like

If the cell is not pre-formatted, entering "1:00 PM" in Excel XP results
in an AM/PM format, not military time. Regardless, the value stored for
a time value does not depend on the particular time format selected, so
you can always reformat to the desired format.

Great!! Thanks a lot.

Now if this is possible, how do i calculate the time. I am doing a time
card sheet with hours worked on mon-fri. The time worked calculates on
the individual day, but when i try yo add up all the times i get
something like 3 hours or something really low when most should add up
over 30 hours and more. This is nothing important or anything, im just
trying to learn as much as i can cuz im taking the Expert test inthis
soon.

Thanks for all the help

Change the format for the total time to [hh]:mm
if you want to use it to return the monetary value of your efforts,

=A30*24*rate_per/hour

wher A30 holds the total time

Well I got the total numbers for each individual day correct, but i
still cannot get it to add the whole weeks time correctly. So, i
uploaded the sheet to my website and the link is this
http://thehpzone.com/timecardsheet.html . I wrote my formats on there
and if you can help this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to you all for all the help, but i figured it out. I just changes
the format to [h] and it calculated like i wanted it to.
