Every time I enter a 2 in a cell it changes to a 1, automatically when I hit enter. That seems to be the only digit that is converted and it does it in Microsoft Word and Outlook as well. If I place a letter or additional digit in front of the 2 , like A2 or 02 or 12 then it will stay - even if I go back afterwards and erace the preceding letter. What do I have set wrong that make office want to correct or change all 2's to 1's.

Rod,

Sounds like that somehow you have an auto-correct entry for 2.

Go into Tools>Autocorrect and scroll down the list and see if there is an
entry for 2, being replaced by 1. If so, select it, and then hit the delete
button.
