Enter Network Password

Several people in our office recently, have had problems checking there POP
emails via Outlook, and even Outlook Express.

After clicking on Send/Receive, a dialog box comes up Asking us to enter the
network password, showing the mail server name, username, and a place to
enter the password.

I am told by the mail server provider that this problem is a Microsoft
problem, occurring after a recent update. Does anyone have info on this?
