Enigma with arabic style font

Arabic style font has appeared consistently in several areas (download dialogue box and the restore to Windows defaults button in add/remove progs) where I believe normally would be a system font. I hhave taken the following action(s) which have not resolved the problem. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

-updated virus defs and did a full system scan
-verfied the fonts were set correctly in display properties (tahoma) also that it displays properly
-ran spybot and ad-aware
-checked add/remove programs for any anomalies
-checked hotfixes and updates
 
The exact same thing has recently happened to me.

I know this was posted ages ago, but does someone have any Idea how to
fix it?
