I have a large document that I need to create endnotes. How do you assign
more than one endnote to a section. For example if after a sentence I want to
refer to reference 2, 4, and 5 for that sentence, I would want it to look
like (2-4-5) the numbers being superscript. I am using Word 2003

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Dee

Generally speaking, in such situations it's best to combine all the
references into a single note, separated by semi-colons, or in separate
paragraphs. But if you must have separate notes, just insert all the
endnotes in a row, not separated by any punctuation. Then select all but the
first and last and format them as Hidden text. Finally, insert an en dash
after the first or before the last. This works only for inclusive numbers.
I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do with 2, 4, and 5.
