Endless loop installing windows xp

Hi All,
A friend gave me this computer, I got the BSOD (windows 2K) so I thought
I would re-install windows xp.
The machine has a raid array. Is this the problem? After I boot with the
winxp cd it starts to load windows. After the press f6 screen for additional
drivers the install crashes. I made a back up for all my important files on
to a cd. I really don't need to save any thing on any of the 4 hard drives.
I have one 80 gig hard drive (it marked as the only bootable array in the
dos utility)as an array that is bootable and three other as one array. Can
some one please help me figure this out?
