Encrypted files "Access denied" after password change

XP Pro SP1 workstation in domain, changed password, then encrypted files not accessible
IE Tools - InternetOptions - Content - Certificates shows multiple certificates for EFS
How do I choose the correct one for accessing an encrypted folder/file?

How did you change your password? Is this an NT 4.0 domain? If so, there

Password was changed at logon (as requested by near expiration)
Yes, it is NT4.0 domain and XP Pro SP1 workstation
I was aware of the KB article
I have tried changing password back to original, didn't help
Tools - InternetOptions - Content - Certificates now shows 4 certificates for EFS
Is something else missing
Are the encrypted files permanently not accessible? (I have backup of them)
