Hello again,

Can you please tell me if there is a way of encrypting a
partition of the hard disk in Windows xp. This is for
storing "pictures" of us that I don't want anybody else to
have access to.

Thanks alot,

Yes, you can encrypt select files on a NTFS partition. Right click,
Properties, Advanced, Encrypt Contents to Secure data. Once the file is
encrypted it'll show up in a diff. color than the rest.

You'll need Windows XP Professional using NTFS in order to
encrypt files or folders only.

Yes, it is easy to encrypt the data assuming you have Windows XP Pro.
Dangerous if done improperly, may cause permanent loss of data:
EFS is very good at what it does and there is no back door.
Read and understand these links before using EFS to keep from
permanently losing your data:

Better options may to password your profile:
You password your profile.
Also you need to be using NTFS and not FAT32 file system.
To check:
Open My Computer, Right click C drive, click Properties.
What does it say by "File System"?
To convert to NTFS:
