enabling macros for multi-session word

I am using Word2002 and I noticed that if I open two Word documents that
contain Macros, in the second document macros will not be active. I always
have to close the first instance of word in order for the macros to be
executed.

could somebody help me with that problem?

Are these macros contained within the documents? In Normal.dot? In an Addin?

I can't recall having ever experienced anything like this. Unless we're
talking about a COM-Addin which hasn't been correctly constructed.
