Is there a setting in the registry to turn the toolbar on by default? I've
searched for entries on doing this, but they all refer to being able to do so
only on a clean install.

What's your problem, exactly? Does the QL Toolbar disappear with a
reboot? Is it inaccessible? Is it not shown as an option?

Line 192. Restore the Toolbars From Being Greyed Out
Line 296. Cannot Create Toolbar (QL) - .REG or .VBS

Never use Kelly's registry tweaks which are full of junk from her own
registry. Plus, never import something into the registry that you cannot
trust.

I couldn't disagree with you more. What you say is nonsense and does a
terrible disservice to those people reading here.

Kelly's web site, her fixes, registry tweaks, etc., are among the very
best available. There are very few technical web sites anywhere as
close to as good as hers is.

Ken,

Totally disagree & how are they fixes?

Remember that some keys change when they are on SP3 from SP2. That means if
that particular key was sone in SP3 it may not work with SP3. Then look to
see that you may only need 1 registry value in her exported reg files but
there maybe another 9 which are specifically for her machine. So, now you
are importing junk/clutter into another registry. If Kelly was any good
she'd go through the entries & remove that junk but the thing is, she isn't
good enough to know so leaves all the rubbish in them. Just right-click |
edit some of the keys to see what I mean. Have been registry
hacking/registry programming 5 or more days of the week since 1997 so I have
some knowledge of what I am talking about

Maybe some work, but the clutter doesn't? What if there is a write-only
registry key permission, how is Kelly's junk keys going to help? All you
MVP's will do is say look at line ... on Key's site because you've done a
Google search on her static website

Let's have a look at that Taskbar program she wrote: It does a few registry
key changes. The application isn't signed so why would you trust it? If you
see the junk you enter into your registry running her tweaks then then why
would you want to import the same rubbish using that poor application she
wrote?

You are better off seeing if you can find the tweat on the PCTOOLS registry
site. At least it have trusted content because they have gone through policy
settings etc for the correct entries. There is also the resource kit on
Microsoft that has every key explained with most entries...

Stop spreading FUD, people here can trust Kelly's fixes more than they can
trust an anonymous nobody like you! You're just someone with a bee in his
bonet, you're just jealous because Kelly is smarter than you.

Whatever you say Peter :)) If you knew what you were looking at then you'd
know what I am talking about
