Enable Macros Question

I got a new machine with Word 2003 (used to have Word 2000). On the new
machine, I copied a global template that I had created on the old machine.
This template has auto-text entries, a few macros, etc. And each time I
start Word (or Outlook for that matter), it asks me whether I want to enable
macros, and I say yes. (Security is set to medium.) How do I just get the
template to load without getting the enable/disable question each time?
Thanks,

Ross Payne

Put the template in Word's Startup folder (you've probably already done
that). Then go to Tools | Macro | Security and choose the Trusted Sources
tab. Check the box for "Trust all installed templates and add-ins."

Thanks, Suzanne. However, and this is what is puzzling, the box is already
checked. The normal.dot template also has macros, but Word doesn't ask me
about that -- just the global template that I created. Any other ideas?

You do have it in Word's Startup folder? Unfortunately, the "trust" does not
extend to the Office Startup folder.

Yes, you are right. Here's where I moved it to:
C:\Documents and Settings\Ross Payne\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
And the problem is fixed.
Thanks,

Ross
