Okay, I give. I'm convinced you should be able to use a "net use" or
similar command to enable the local administrator account but I can't
figure out what it is. Can somebody out there help a brother out?

Thanks!

Open the Command Prompt and type: Net Help , and hit enter.

If you are running Windows XP Professional:

1. Open XP's "Help and Support" program.
2. In the Search box type: COMMAND-LINE , and hit enter.
3. Then click on "Command-line reference A-Z".

I've cranked through all the options for the net command but can't figure
out any combination that'll enable an account. That's why I'm so confused;
it seems like it should be there. Do you know the format of the command?
I'd expect it to be a "net user" something but can't see anything there but
creating, deleting and changing passwords. How do I enable and existing
account?

Thanks again!

Actually it's just that on some machines the local administrator account is
disabled. The machines are part of a domain and therefore needing the local
admin account is rare. It's a royal pain when access to the domain is
denied and the administrator account is disabled! I'd like a simple script
that'll enable the administrator account. That's all.

You'd think it would be simple...
