Empty deleted items folder-sends replys to senders

Good Day,

When I empty my deleted items folder, it will send an
email to the original sender notifying them that I
deleted the email. Where can I control this option.
This has cause a major problem internally in our office.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
