I am interested in inserting video into a PowerPoint 2002
presentation. My questions are: (1) Can you embed video
clips into a PowerPoint presentation? and (2) If so, how
do you do it? I am very familiar with using PowerPoint.

Thanks

That's right you cannot "embed' video, only link it. Still, it runs pretty
well as long as you don't break the link.
Go to: Insert > Movie & Sounds > Movie from file (or Movie from Clip
Organizer).

If you're packing your Presenation, you must package the video as well AND
relink it from the directory that you're including with the presentation,
otherwise you'll lose the link.

Sorry, PowerPoint only embeds certain types of objects. .wav files are
easily embedded. To see what othe types of objects you can embed open your
Control Toolbar and select the "More Controls" icon. (it looks like a
hammer & wrench). that has a drop down list of lots of objects, many of
which can be embedded into PowerPoint (though not always successfully or
easily).
