What I really need help with is compressing my photos before inserting them
into the body of the email. Can anyone out there help me with how to
compress photos first?

You can't really compress an image file.
You can reduce the size of the photo, however.
The easiest way is to use Windows Photo Gallery to select the photo(s), and
click on "Email".
Then you can select a smaller size, then click on Attach.

http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer/ It is more work than
XP's image resizer powertoy but useful. You open the program, select the
photo, set it up to resize to 640x480 and it creates a copy which will fit
on an email screen.

As a file manager, instead of Explorer, I use Powerdesk. If you right click
the name of a photo and choose to send it to a mail recipient it immediately
offers to resize before attaching it to an email. (I also like it because it
is easier to have 2 folders side by side for copying and pasting).

Using the method decribed with windows photo gallery, email, smaller size and
then attach, can anyone explain why the Send Icon would not appear in the
second email window that opens. If I send photos just as attachments they
are too large to fit in the screen. Thanks for your help.

SEND icon missing :
Right click on the tool bar ( the column ) where the Send icon is missing.
Click Customize.
Inside the box on the Left, find " SEND ", click it.
Click ADD. " SEND " should now be inside the box on the Right.
Click CLOSE.

Thanks t-4-2 for the suggestion, tried it, " Send" was not in the add list.
In the "New Message" screen I have a "Send" Icon. It is a after I select
Insert, Picture, right click, Send to, Mail Recipient, and change the picture
size and click attach that a message appears briefly MS Outlook Exchange. A
second email screen opens with the attachment and icons "To:" "CC:"
"Subject" , everything but a "Send" icon. When I tried to right click on the
Tool bar of this email screen and seach in the customize list, "Send" did not
appear in the list.
We had to get a new computer and it has Vista. Nothing is working for me
like it did with Microsoft XP. Kodak software won't work, Kodak docking
station won't work , I have given up on those items but I sure hope I can get
this solved. I can see the Vista change is going to be very challenging. Any
help is greatly appreciated.
