I have a presentation created in PowerPoint 97 with
embedded slides containing data and charts from Excel
97. Works great when viewing in PowerPoint 97. However,
when I open the same presentation in PowerPoint XP I have
a problem. The Excel data look fine, but if I double-
click to edit them, then click away when done, it cuts
off part of the underlying data. This doesn't happen if
I view it in PPT 97. I'm not even making any changes -
just double-clicking and then clicking away cuts off the
data!!!

What is going on?????

I suspect this has to do with the combination of different display
settings/windows versions/ppt versions on the different computers.
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00068.htm might explain better what
happens.

Since PPT XP seems to have fixed this problem, though, I'm not quite
sure why it would be causing problems when editing in PPT XP.
