Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me in customising Outlook 2003 (or maybe you'll
tell me that OE will do a better job) to do one specific job.

I want a specific machine to do nothing more than sit on a broadband
connection listening to a single POP3 mailbox. When it recieves a message,
I want it to print it, sound a noise to alert people that it has and then
make a periodic 'beep' (like a mobile does when you've missed a txt) until
a key is pressed to tell it that someone is processing the message.

Can Outlook be customised in this way? Can any other e-mail client?

Many thanks in advance.

It strikes me that neither Outlook nor Outlook Express would be a good
candidate for this. A better candidate may be a mail client on a Unix
machine, like Pine. Perhaps sendmail, smail, or Eudora could be scripted to
do this.
