I don't know who to contact about my Outlook Express I
cannot open any attachments I get a mess OE removed access
to following unsafe att they are all from friends and I
cannot understand why I cannot open my mail from friends
yet I get at least 20 junk mails everyday!!!!!! How do I
change this?
 
Tools / Options / Security
Uncheck the checkbox that says: "Do not allow attachments to be saved or
opened that could potentially be a virus"

DO NOT RUN ANY ATTACHMENTS OTHER THAN FROM YOUR FRIENDS AND ONLY IF YOU'RE
EXPECTING AN ATTACHMENT.
Under any circumstances do not open any e-mails that look like they came
from Microsoft (especially if they're advertising Windows updates).

If you go into OE then tool, options, security then on

the top uncheck Do not allow attachments...

You do realize, don't you, that most viruses are spread by
"friends?"

Outlook Express' default security settings are simply trying to
protect you. OE has no way of telling whether an attachment actually
contains a virus or not, so it temporarily blocks any of those file
types that could potentially contain a virus. In Outlook Express,
Tools > Options > Security, uncheck the "Do not allow attachments to
be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" option, assuming
you trust the source, of course. The wiser course of action, however,
would be to modify your list of unsafe files, as outlined in the KB

You should make sure your friends sent them frist. Many modern virus's
will infect a computer, then send copies of itself out by grabbing
addresses from the address book. So, you can get a virus from what
appears to be a friend.
