Emails with long subject lines do not open from a file share

I am experiencing an issue with outlook not opening emails in one of our file
shares. So open and some don't. The only difference that we can see is that
the emails with short subjects lines open while the longer ones do not. Also
the files with the longer subject lines do not have an envelope icon beside
them, alough they come up as an oulook item. When i double click one, a new
outlook window pops up, but only goes to outlook today. If I get someone to
rename one of the files that I can't open to a short name, then it works
fine. Is this a known issue with outlook??

Sounds like the name is pushing over the command line length limit (256 or
512 bytes long).
