Emails disappearing from Inbox

A friend is using Outlook 2000. She says that when she replies to an email,
the reply is in the Sent mail but the original email disappears from the
Inbox. Could there be a reason for this? I cannot think of an Option for
this but I have a different version.

Lots of reasons. Any filter on the view could do this.
Since the icon changes when you reply, see if "Sort by icon" is selected for
this view.

Have the friend click View>Current View>Messages. I bet she has "Unread
messages" selected right now.
 
OK - thanks - I'll ge ther to look at that. Will drop over tomorrow if I
get time and have a look for myself.
