Emails disappeared

Something very strange has happened to my Emails. They just disappeared. I
got a new HD and I had to move things around. My C drive stated the same. I
moved my 'My Documents' to another spot. After I was all done, I wanted to
check Outlook. All my messages, contacts, calender entries are all gone. I do
have an old .pst file, so I have all my emails prior to july 1 of this year.
I have nothing from then until now.

Where could this stuff have gone? How can I get them back?

My OS is WinXP with SP2. My Outlook is Outlook 2003 with SP1. I don't use an
exchange server. My accounts are all ok, but where did my stuff go?

I did not delete anything when I moved things around. Just moved files and
folders.

I searched all my drives for *.pst files and all I found was my old .pst
file from July and a smal Outlook.pst in my Local Settings Outlook folder. I
checked both of these pst files and nothing. I also searched for .ost files.
Nothing.

Please help me find my stuff. I am not too concerned about Contacts and
Calendar, I have them on my PDA.

Thanks,
Scott

You must indeed search for pst-files. Make sure you include hidden files and
folders during your search as well.
The default location is C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Yes, that is what I thought. I searched all files including hidden ones. I
get nothing. It just vanished. All the data on my C drive is exactly what it
was before I installed the new drive. I did nothing to this data.

I did have a personal folders file set and I kept that file in My Documents
folder. After I moved My Documents, Outlook gave me a message saying the.pst
file I had connected was no longer valid. So I went to reconnect and all I
could find was my archived pst file from July.

All my contacts, calendar entries, and emails have just vanished. I did not
do any deleting.

Thanks,
Scott

Is that pst-file still located in your My Documents folder? Make sure you've
got read/write NTFS permissions for it. If you still can't open it see if
scanpst.exe can fix the pst-file.
