I would like to send a ppt presentation via email, but want it to open
automatically when the email is opened (i.e. the recipient will not have to
double click the attachment). Is this possible?

In my opinion, the user should *always* have the choice to open or not open an
email attachment.

Not if the recipient has a lick of sense. ;-)

Think about it: Would you let anybody who sent *you* email run any code they
wanted to on your PC?

This explains the problems and limitations and a few kinder, gentler, more
reliable alternate solutions:

Send a presentation that opens automatically in email
