The Send Pictures via E-mail dialog box does not open
when I select under the File and Folder Tasks, click E-
mail this file. Outlook express new message opens up and
the file in with its original size is attached to the
email message. How do I make this dialog box appear so I
can send small pictures?
I have tried re-registering shimgvw.dll (regsvr32
shimgvw.dll) but this seems to only affect the ability to
display the picture files as thumbnails, and doesn't
bring the diaglogue box to make pictures smaller as I
used to have.

==================================
When you ran the command:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Did a dialog box report the following?

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

You may also try:

"regsvr32 %windir%\system32\shimgvw.dll"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and %)

As a work around, you may find the PowerToy
ImageResizer.exe to be quite useful:

Go to the following link and download and
install: ImageResizer.exe

http://tinyurl.com/36n

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

Thanks John,
I tried your suggestion again, and received the "succeed"
message this time.
Many thanks
