I'm new to emaling pictures. From "My Pictures" in XP Home Edition, if I go
to the task of "email this file", when I click on it, the MSN Sign in-MSN
explorer log in window comes up. Only problem is I no longer have MSN's
internet service. Is there a setting in XP that I can change to get things to
work? I use a hotmail email account and Microsoft Outlook. Or am I better off
just to go into the email program and select the photos to attach from there?
Thanks for any help...

Tried that. It shows Comcast as my default email account, which is correct,
yet as decribed in original post, when I click on email this file from My
Pictures in XP, my old MSN internet log on window pops up.

Well, I hope somebody comes to the rescue for fixing this.

Yes, you can go attach a picture after opening the e-mail. However, you will
not get the resize option window as when you use "email this file".
Since pictures can be very large files, this can create a problem if you or
your recipient are using a phone line connection (very slow transfer) and
also the size of the mail box your recipient has.
To avoid this problem, you can resize the file as given below and then
attach this smaller file.

To decrease the size of the file for e-mail, web publishing, etc.

Go to this site and download the free Image Resizer. Exe file in one of your
folder.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once in your folder, double click on it to install it.

Once installed, you right click on a photo file (or on a group of selected
photo files).

Click on Resize image on the opening menu.

A window will open, select the size you want.

New files will be added in your folder, same name as original file but with
the word (small) or (custom) added.

The first time you use it, you may not see Resize image on the opening menu
after you right click on a photo file or if you see it and click on it, it
may not work. If so, do the following:

Click on Run, click on Start and type the following in the textbox:

REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL

and press the Enter key.

Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI.

You should get a "success" message after pressing the Enter key.

Yes, I have taken the road to Hana. Beautiful, but not if you bring your
wife. There is no shopping mall at the end of the road to Hana!
