It might be easier to sign up for an FTP account somewhere and upload it to
web space; then email the person with the link and ask them to download it.

I doubt *anyone* has 200megs storage just for email. (eg I have 50 meg limit
for email storage with my ISP).

As "Andrew" pointed out, an email of this size is unrealistic. Whilst you
could presumably configure your Exchange server to allow outgoing emails of
200MB (I think the default is 10MB) its unlikely that anyone else would have
a server configured to accept such a large email.

You could try breaking the file into chunks. If you investigate some
compression programs (winzip, rar etc) they will often allow you to do this.
Chances are that the recipient would need the same program to put the bits
back together again. Even assuming you could split your 200MB file into say
20 lots of 10MB (I'd go for chunks smaller than 10MB since 10MB is about the
limit on individual emails for most systems), if you are emailing 20x10MB
then you are still likely to overflow the mailbox of the recipient.

FTP or a cd in the post would both appear to be better approaches.

Email attachment are encoded as text.
This adds 33 1/3 % to the size of the email.
So you are trying to send 267 MB email.

The size of the file you can send is a restriction put in place by your ISP.
The answer is therefore not the same for all of us. You should check with
your ISP to find out what their limits are.

Yes if your hoster allows it and you are paying for that bandwidth. OR,
one may simply create a link to the file you want to distribute and/or
upload the file to one of the many free download centers.
