When i email a data base as an attachment through Outlook
it is blocked at the other end because of "a potentially
unsafe message". This is common to Outlook apparently.
I get aroud this by adding a few characters afetr the MDB
extension and the receiver does a Save as and renames.
My q is, is there a better or simpler way.

Thanks

There is a way you can edit your Outlook Security settings to allow sending
and receiving of Access .mdb files but it is fairly long winded. If your
recipient is also using a later version of Outlook, chances are they won't
be able to open it anyway unless they have gone through the same procedure.
What I do recommend is that you compress the file using a program such as
WinZip or the native compress option (compatible with WinZip) found in
Windows XP before sending it as Outlook does not block the .zip type of file
(yet!).

Another advantage is that if you are using dialup for internet access, file
sending will be a lot faster due to the compressed file size.

Hope this helps
