All of a sudden, my email messages are disappearing if I
send a reply. Once the reply is sent, the original email
has just vanished. What has happened here and how can I
fix it.

Have you set your view to unread messages?

Do you have a view set on the folder? Is it Unread Messages? Try setting it
to All Messages and see if the problem disappears. (Enable the Advanced
Toolbar - right click in the toolbar area, select the option to show the
advanced.)

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Sue asked:
