Everytime I open my Outlook Express or try to send an email, I get this
message:

The host SMPT could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly. Account "Microsoft Mail Server" SMPT protocol SMPT
Port 25 secure (SSL) No. Socket Error: 11001. Error Number 0x800CCC0D.

What is wrong? Can someone please help me.

Thank you.

are your smtp settings correct?
can you ping the smtp server?
can you telnet to the smtp server on port 25?

in your outlook express account settings, check your outgoing mail server
and make sure it is the same as what your ISP said you should use
one little thing misspelled would cause it to fail
check that first

What type of mail account is this? If it is a Hotmail account, you
must have a paid account in order to use Outlook to retrieve your
mail.
