Email with highlighted copy

I composed an email with highlight copy. The sent email did not have the
highlighted copy and when I printed the email, this also did not have the
highlighted copy. Why is the yellow highlight not showing on the email that
receipients get or on my printed version? Thanks for your help
 
What version of Outlook are you using? What format was the message -
HTML?
