Email stuck in Outbox but has been sent

I am running an SBS2k server with Exchange 2k on it, some of my users have
been running across a problem where email they are composing or replying to,
gets stuck in the outbox, but has been sent. The users get replies from the
recipent of the emails so we know it has been sent, it also shows the logs on
the server that they were sent.

So far I am only aware of 4 users having this difficulty and I was wondering
if this is a problem with Outlook 2k3? All 4 users are running Outlook 2k3
with different packages, 1 is SBE 2k3 and the others are Basic edition 2k3.

I have looked through forums and the microsoft knowledge base and all that
is visible is related to this problem is people actually having issues
sending the mail. Since this is not the problem we are having I am wondering
if anyone has experienced this problem in addition has anyone found a
resolution?

I've seen similar issues when security certificates were present. In all
the cases there was some issue with the certificate that required a new
certificate to be issued. Hope this helps.
