Hi, after reading that Outlook 2003 is a great program, I installed it
(and kept Word XP and Frontpage XP, as these are sloooow in their
newer versions, don't ask me why).
Outlook has loads of features I don't need, so maybe I've missed
something here, but as new to Windows (old time Mac user that switched
recently) I wonder why I have to start whole damn Outlook and then
minimize it to tray to get it to notify that I have new email. I don't
want to waste 40MB of memory and an annoying startup if I don't have
to.
Rationally, there should be a small agent/daemon/whatever that loads
on Windows startup and then sits in the tray using small resources and
little memory while checking my accounts. When I get a new email I
should get notified and THEN have the option of starting Outlook to
read it, right?
Have I missed something in the installation process? I used "custom"
installation, maybe I shouldn't :-/
Is there an option to start Outlook in "minimized" mode so it pops
right into the tray and don't open it's windows on startup?
