Contact n&a filed as last, first, but in email lookup, first last. How to seq
email list like contacts??

You posted insufficient information to permit an answer.
Provide your Outlook version.
Define "email lookup." Are you asking about the Outlook Address Book?

Sorry.Using Outlook from Office 2003 (11.6359, 6360) SP1. Exported Contacts
from desktop and imported to laptop. Laptop Contac list aok: last name, first
name. In laptop New email, clicking on To, gives list First name Last Name v.
seq of Contacts. Also confusion re Address Book v. Contacts. I have no
entries in laptop Address Book, only Contacts.

Situation normal. You should not have any entries in the Address Book. There
is no Address Book in Outlook. The Address Book is simply a shell that
displays your Contact Folders. That is where your data resides.
It is easy to change the sort order in your Address Book view to follow the
"File As" field format in your Contact Folders. Do so here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there
