This is for a laptop. I have Outlook email, I installed Word, when I click
on email the web page comes up, but it's empty and does not display my email
address. The previous email is also gone. I uninstalled WORD and was able
to get the appropriate email page up, along with the previous email.
What could be going wrong? Please help!

What version of Outlook, what version of Word? Did you have a prior version
of Word that you updated? Outlook, when installed with the full MS Office
suite, uses Word as the email editor, so the issue probably lies in that
direction. The more details you can provide about your setup/software
versions, the easier to troubleshoot.

The version of Outlook is 1995-2001
File Version - 10.0.2616.0
Word - 2002 (XP)
Version
No, I never had a previous version of Word, this was the first time
installing Word.
If MS Office uses Word as the email editor why would I not be able to access
the previous email? Or after Word is installed, would I be able to sign onto
the new Outlook email using the same address and password (hoping it would
bring up my previous mail)? I'm just stabbing in the dark!
I hope this helps, thanks!!

Try uninstalling Outlook, install Word, then reinstall Outlook. It's
important to install Outlook to the same folder it was in originally.
Install Word to this folder as well.
If your Outlook mail is local, It should keep a copy of your settings. If
you use Outlook to access web mail, it should be stored on the providers
servers.

OK, I'm going to try this, but if I'm unable to access a copy of my settings
- what should I do?
I just don't want to change my email address.
Sorry to sound paranoid!

Thank You!

Who is your email provider?

Then most likely the email is stored on one of their servers and a copy is
downloaded to your Outlook when you access it. You might double check that
with their tech support. If this is the case, Outlook can be uninstalled and
reinstalled with no worries about losing your email. At most you will just
have to reconfigure the email account.
