Something happened to all of my outgoing emails yesterday when I tried to
reply to an email received. Either in the reply format or to set up a new
outgoing email I am getting these reverse paragraph symbols (sorry, I don't
know their actual name), and I cannot figure out how to get rid of this
format which is now there on a default basis. Please advise.

Thanks
Lewis

If you're using Word as your email editor see if you've got any of the
formatting symbol view options turned on here while in a new mail message:
Tools menu > Options > View tab

I am not using Word to edit any of the emails in question. I only use it
when I have a Word attachment that I might want to attach. However, in Word
there are no options checked under View--> formatting marks.
This problem occurs on any email that I now try to reply to or any new email
that I try to create to send out, all created from within Outlook 2003.

Thanks

Further, in case this helps: I looked into Outlook-->tools-->options-->mail
format -->message format and did find the following checked: "Use Microsoft
Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages"

I don't know if this relates to your question or not.

You need to look at the Tools menu > Options command from an open new email
item. Otherwise you'll see Outlook's options not Word's

Yes - got it. For some reason "All" was checked, and once I unchecked it
all of those little marks vanished! Thank you very much
