Hi,

My organisation has the following setup:
-Exchange 2000 (Clustering).
-Outlook 97/2000/XP/2003.

Would like to know how to encrypt email messages and attachment with the
outlook client(either through outlook configuration or third party software)?

Didn't want to go into Key Management Server because of the setup cost
needed and the limited number of users using it.

Appreciate if anyone can advise.

thank you very much.

You would have to purchase S/MIME certificates or PGP. Note, I have used
Outlook 97 in a very long time and I do not remember how good its support is
for S/MIME.

ps - remember that encrypting requires the public half of the recipients
key. so while you might go this route, if the recipient doesn't implement
any type of PKI, then the best your side could do is sign the message.
