Email distribution list by category

Hi there

Does anyone know how to create a distribution list for
emails that is by category - i.e. I have contacts in my
address book that are soorted by category and I need to
find a way to vreate a distribution list that only select
emailrecipients from a category I select.

Any news on this - many thanks

There's a way, but the question is why do you need to? Categories are more
reliable than DL's. Just use Categories instead of a DL.
Select the Category header > Actions > New Message to Contact...

Go to contacts folder and change view to by category. Select/Highlight
category header and then select Actions | New Message to Contact. This
should help you quickly address a message to all persons in a specific
category.

Andrew, here's the closest you're likely to get: Apply the "By Category"
view to your Contacts folder to group them by category. Then grab a category
heading, drag it and drop it on the Inbox icon in the Outlook Bar (or the
Mail icon on the Navigation Pane in Outlook 2003). Outlook will create a new
e-mail message addressed to all the contacts in that category.

You can sort your contact by Category and then select those contacts and
choose Actions-> New Message to Contact
