I have changed my contacts to another email address which the address book
lists correctly but, when I click on the to field and start typing in the
users email address the old email addresses still show up. How can I clear
the old addresses that seem to be cached some where?

Steve,

I would check to make sure that the location of where you changing your
contacts is the same as the default location for your personal contacts.
Example, if you have changed them in the Personal Address book but the
default one is listed as Contacts then this may be your issue. To check
this open the Address Book click Tools and Option.

If I go to Tools-Options Email Options-Advanced Email Options there is a
check box called "suggest names while complete TO, CC, BCC". This
information is being cached some where. For example, if I had a email
address of (e-mail address removed) and deleted that address and added (e-mail address removed)
the (e-mail address removed) would show up if I started to type out john in the TO:
box.

If I click the TO: box and select the name from the address book then
everything is fine.

Francine is mistaken. The addresses your see are contained in a file in the
(hidden) folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook. The file's extension is
".NK2". You can clear out an individual entry by using the arrow keys to
select it and then pressing Delete. Although I'll be called misguided or
foolish be another poster with a financial ax to grind, you can also just
delete or rename that file (with Outlook closed) to clear out the cache.

To be fair, here's a link to that other poster's web site and a link to
information he's published about the autocompletion cache:
