Email being sent Incorrectly

Have an exchange server, serving public folders out.
However I also have a few internet email accounts that
have to be connected to via one machine.

The problem is that even without the exchange server
service started on the outlook client it is still trying
to send emails to the exchange server first. Is there
something I can turn off in the registry so that it won't
try to send there? This email shouldn't be going to the
exchange server, as it is an outside address, and I don't
have the computer set up (right now) for email through the
exchange server.

The error message is

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

No transport provider was available for delivery to this
recipient.

I assume that you have Outlook 2000 in Corporate/Workgroup mode? That does
not handle mixed Exchange/Internet accounts very well, as you can't reliably
specify which account is to be used to send a message. For now, I'd remove
the Exchange account until you're set up to use it. Outlook 2002 and 2003
handle mixed accounts much better, so another option is to upgrade.

Jeff,

I have seen that data file, however.......

I DID remove the exchange server service to no avail.
However it is starting to sound as though switching to
2002 or 2003 would be the better choice.
