Now that I am using Windows Mail, is there any announcement (visual or
audio) of notifying me that I have new mail, or incoming mail? I was using
Incredimail previously, and I always knew when I had mail.................

Thanks,
Beau Beau

Thanks,

For me, it gives an icon shaped like an envelope in the group of icons on
the
right end of the bar at the bottom of the screen, and also a sound, not
especially
loud. However, I don't remember if I had to turn on these features. To
check
if you already have them turned on, send yourself a short email message.

In Windows Mail:

Menu item: Tools - Options - General Tab

Make sure there is a tick beside the item:-

Play a sound when new message arrives

Then, in Control Panel, click on:-

Hardware & Sounds, then
Change system sounds

then scroll down to:-

New mail notification

Near the bottom under "Sounds:" make sure that a sound has been
selected from the drop down menu. If "None" is showing here then no
sound will be played. You can use the "Browse" button to look for more
sounds (.wav files) on you computer.

P.S.

Hundreds of new mail sounds here that you can download:-

Of course, Windows Mail has to be running for this to work.
