email address in messenger

When I installed Office XP Pro yesterday, Instant
messenger got activated. I think it was realted to using
Outlook. Anyway, I decided to try it out but it somehow
got ahold of an old/invalid email address and I can't seem
to figure out how to change it to my current address. The
only address remaining in Outlook Accounts is my current
address, but Instant Messenger is not letting go of the
old one. When I open Messenger, it displays my old email
address, and I keep getting a message telling me I need to
verify my email address, and it shows the old/invalid
address Thanks for any help you can provide.

System: Athlon 1.0 GB, 512 MB RAM, WinXP Home

You can get rid of the old email entries in messenger my going in to control panel/user accounts/advanced and then manage passwords it will show you the emails that msn messenger has got in its memo. You can remove it from there. I hope this helps
