When I type the first few letters in an email address in the To: field, I
want the rest to fill in if I have used the address before. How do I do
that? I have turned on the autoname feature in advanced email options, but
that did not work.

Thanks!

State your Outlook version.
State more clearly which option you enabled.

Outlook 2000. The option that I thought would work and that I do have
selected is Tools/Options/Preferences/Email Options/Advanced Email
Options/Automatic Name Checking. It is not working though. Can anyone
assist?

You enabled autoresolution, not autocompletion. Outlook 2000 does not have
an autocompletion feature. It has a feature called auto-resolution. If you
enter part of a name or a nickname then tab out of the field (or hit Alt-K
[Check Names]), Outlook will attempt to resolve the name against your
address book. If it can't it'll red underline it and you can right click on
the name to manually resolve it. Outlook will save the resolution for future
use.
