I see you posted with a Yahoo email address. Is that your
only email address? US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access
only, no POP access. Windows Mail handles POP mail but not Yahoo webmail.
Yahoo's solution is to pay for premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have these other
solutions that will work with Windows Mail:
* Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP.
* Use a free Gmail, AOL, or Hotmail/Live account.

If you need more help with any of these solutions, just ask.

this thing is not letting me use hotmail, yahoo or anything so please tell
me what i need to do to get this set up to where i can actually use it been
banging my head on the wall for some time now and it is starting to hurt

To set up Hotmail in Windows Mail see
http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!49799.entry?wa=wsignin1.0&sa=147636945

Windows Mail's new account wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail addresses.
So, when you enter your email address initially, give it a fake one,
such as (e-mail address removed). After the account setup is complete, go back
and correct your email address.
