Email a group but not display all names

My boss wants me to email a small group of seven people, but doesn't want me
to display all their names in the "To" box, nor in the "Cc" box. In other
words, she wants each recipient to think that they are the only recipient of
this message.

Is there a way to do this so that I don't have to send seven separate
messages? Like a (snail) mail merge?

Thanks in advance.

Max

If you don't need to provide attachments, you can just use Word. Tools -
Letters and Mailings - Mail Merge from the menu. For some insanely stupid
reason, Word STILL does not support attachments for mail merge, though. I
originally thought it might be to prevent spam, but how many span letters do
you receive each day that contain attachments? Coming off the soapbox now.
:) If you DO need to send attachments as well, try WorldCast
(http://www.fairlogic.com/worldcast/index.shtml). It's free for personal
use, but if you're using it for corporate use, you'll need to register it
(prices are reasonable, and posted on the site).

I do this frequently. The only problem with using the BCC field is that the
recipients see NO name, or if they do, it's in the BCC field, making it
obvious that this email went out to other people as well, which makes it not
a choice if the sender wants each recipient to think that they were the
exclusive receiver of the message (some business situations would certainly
require this).

Wordmail Merge.

Jamie, thank you so much! That worked like a dream! I am glad that I didn't
need to attach anything, though I can't understand why we can't do that, tsk.

Again, thank you!!!

Oh, one more Q -- the only thing I wasn't thrilled with (?) was that in Word,
I can't use my fancy stationary, tsk, that I have formatted in Outlook. Any
reason why? Also can't insert my full signature block and had to type it
out. But at least I only had to do it once! (;

Yes, use BCC (Blind Carbon Copy).

Not so. Or not so on the BCC-ed emails I receive and send. I include a
specific e-mail address in each distribution list I send out so that I know
it's actually travelled through the mail server (long story). When I get
those (BCC-ed) e-mails, my name (or e-mail address if the list didn't have
my name) is in the "To" field, just as it would be with a regular non-BBCed
message.

Maybe it's because I use a Distribution List. Dunno. But I do know I see my
name/e-mail addy.

Have you BCCed a Distribution List?

You are missing her point. With Bcc you have to put one name in the To:
field. It would have to be your own name or a fake name. That's not
personalized to each recipient.
