I am using Powerpoint 2003 and want to get rid of the
icon that automatically appears when my movie plays in
Powerpoint show mode. Any ideas. Thank you in advance.

Go to Tools > Options > View and under Slide Show uncheck the options to Sho
menu and Show popup.

Sorry. I didn't read carefully. If you use Insert > Movie > Movie from File
you won't get any controls.

If you are using Insert > Object > WMP Object, you'll need to right click it and
select Properties and then go to Custom and set the controls to None.

I should have been more specific. The original file was
created in 2003 using insert movie from file. I then
created a file and included the original powerpoint file
as well as the mpeg 2 movie file. It works for other
users of 2003 without having to reinsert the movie via
insert movie rather it is able to call up the movie from
the file on the desktop. For some reason within 2002 we
get this icon and can't figure out how to get rid of it.
We have tried going to options and then uncheck show
popup menu button and show popup toolbar. Any other
ideas??

I still don't understand.

What kind of file did you create and how did you do it? Do you mean that you
created a CD?

What does the icon look like? Do you also see the first frame of the movie?
Does the movie play in PowerPoint 2002?
