Hi,

We've already been creating ET CDs using ETPREP ... our XPe target includes
lots of media files that won't fit on the CD, so one solution is to include
a media DVD since the system has no hard drive.

Anyway, the current version of ETPREP supports 74 minute and 80 minute media
only. Is it possible that someday we'll see a DVD-compatible version so
bootable DVDs can be created? Otherwise, we'll just have to develop our own
bootable DVD prep utility.

Thanks,

Craig

Craig,

I successful booted XPE from a DVD-R. You can take the ISO image from HD2ISO
and create a bootable DVD. No changes to the ISO file are needed. I used
NERO6 to burn the ISO image.

But, is that an "El Torito DVD?"

The ISO file creates the partition on the DVD during the burning process.
The partition is an El-Torito partition. The BIOS recoginizes the El-Torito
partition and can boot to it. You can think of it as an El-Torito DVD.

I see someone is awake ;) Nero6 allows you to split the DVD/CD into two
partitions so you can take full advantage of the space on the DVD. In this
case, one partition is the El-Torito Partition (with limitation of the CD)
and the second is the data partition (the rest of the DVD).

.....of course there are the freeware ISO utilities that might be better
suited than HD2ISO.
