ehrec.exe problems

Media center crashes every time I open My TV, but ONLY if
ehrec.exe is a running process. If I kill ehrec.exe before
I open My TV, no problems at all!

I'm sure there is a perfectly logical explanation for this...

ehshell.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x1c45b095" referenced memory at
"0xea3c4650". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

I'm running a P4 3.2, 2GB Ram, Radeon 9800 PRO, WinTV PVR-250.

Any inputs would be appreciated.

thanks for the response. Somebody else told me about this
link too, so apparently the only solution is that I call a
Microsoft tech support person and pay $35 to get a fix?

Isn't there a downloadable patch somewhere for this
particular problem.

Thanks again for the quick response! :)

You didn't read the article fully and jumped to conclusions. Hotfixes are
free for the asking, but you must call MS Product Support for them, there is
no other source. There is no charge as long as you ask for no other support.

Thanks, I will try that, allthough none of the errors
described on that page seem to be the same as mine.

Thanks for your help; hope I don't have to wait for
Symphony/SP2 to get MCE to work :)

well, thanks for the advice, I called MS, and applied the fix.

No luck though, the same problem still keeps happening. Any other suggestions?

ehRec.exe

Hi I'm getting the same error message Media Center Host Module when I close my laptop and then open it again later. It is an Acer Aspire 5050, Win XP. I went on a forum a while ago and was advised it was an Internet Explorer error message and would disappear when new version out. Now on IE8 error still happens. Just registered on this forum and someone has same problem and was advised to contact Windows Support, which I have already done and downloaded/installed their fix, but error still occurs.

Any more ideas?
